A Warm Welcome to Niraj Thanki’s Blog

I’ve wanted to create a space to write for as long as I can remember. On many occasions, I found myself stepping away from it or removing the idea entirely. I believe this hesitation comes from social anxiety.

You may call it procrastination if you wish, but in the world we live in, many people feel their voices are not heard or that they must follow social norms. If you relate to this, you will understand the dynamics of how the world is shaped today.

This space is built on its own values. It is not written for validation or expectation, but for expression and reflection.

Niraj Thanki’s Blog was established on Friday, 1st May 2026.

My interests span many subjects. I spend much of my time exploring technology, lifestyle, religion, and more. However, what surprises me most is nature. I feel a natural connection to it—perhaps something carried through generations of my ancestors. Whatever the reason, I deeply appreciate its presence.

This blog focuses on the Bhagavad Gita and other Hindu scriptures. My intention is to explore and interpret these teachings in a way that connects with a modern audience, offering a different perspective while respecting their origins.

I was raised by my late grandmother, whom I dearly loved and called Lilly. Her upbringing was unique, and while many may say the same about their grandparents, she truly was special. I see many of her traits reflected in myself, and I owe much of who I am to her. Her unwavering determination still lives within me.

You may wonder why I chose the Bhagavad Gita as my starting point. The answer is simple: I am currently studying it. This blog is a way for me to reflect on and express what I learn.

While I am far from a scholar in religion, I carry with me what Lilly taught me. I also use modern tools, including artificial intelligence, to help explore and shape ideas. The goal is not certainty, but learning, reflection, and understanding.

In time, this blog may expand into other subjects. For now, it remains focused on building a strong foundation through clarity and intention.

This blog is a space for reflection, learning, and expression. It is not written to convince, but to explore. If you are here, I appreciate your presence, and I hope you find something meaningful within these writings.

The Bhagavad Gita Today: Ancient Wisdom for a Modern World

The Bhagavad Gita Today: Ancient Wisdom for a Modern World Ancient wisdom can sound far away. It can feel like something sealed inside scripture, ritual, or history. But that is usually because we meet it at a distance. The Bhagavad Gita was never meant to stay there. It is not just a sacred text to admire. It is a direct conversation about what happens inside us when life becomes difficult to carry. It speaks to confusion. To hesitation. To pressure. To identity. To action. To the strain of trying to do the right thing when the mind is not steady. The setting is a battlefield called Kurukshetra, but the real terrain is still recognisable to us now. The real conflict is the one within us when we no longer know what to do, what to hold, or how to move. We all reach those moments. We still face crossroads where the road ahead disappears. We still feel the weight of competing responsibilities. We still know what it is like to freeze when too much is at stake inside us. This t...

Why We Freeze When Life Gets Overwhelming?

Why We Freeze When Life Gets Overwhelming? We have all stood at the center of the noise. Not on an outer battlefield. Inside an inner one. Just inside a heavy day that seems to press in from every side. The room is cluttered. The air feels dense. The mind starts racing faster than the body can follow. In these moments, something ancient begins to stir. The limbs grow heavy. The chest tightens. Thought circles itself. We do not become clearer. We do not become stronger. Instead, we stop. The mind goes quiet, but it is a heavy, static kind of quiet. We find ourselves staring at the wall for twenty minutes. We pace the room without knowing why. We fold and unfold the same shirt. We make another cup of coffee we do not really want. We freeze. The Bhagavad Gita gives this state a deeper language. It begins with Visada . Despair. Not dramatic despair. Not theatrical suffering. The quieter kind. The kind that drains the will, weakens the hands, and makes even the next small movem...

Why Overthinking Makes Decisions Worse: Finding Clarity in the Noise

Why Overthinking Makes Decisions Worse: Finding Clarity in the Noise We often mistake the volume of our thoughts for the quality of our thinking. We believe that if we just think harder, look longer, and weigh every possible outcome one more time, the right answer will finally reveal itself. We tell ourselves we are being diligent. We tell ourselves we are being careful. In reality, we are just creating more noise. In our first exploration, Why We Freeze , we looked at the moment of paralysis: the Visada : where the weight of a decision becomes too heavy to lift. But what happens before the freeze? What happens when the mind is still moving, but it is moving in circles? This is the state of the restless mind. It is the noise that prevents the signal from getting through. The Anatomy of Restlessness Ancient wisdom describes the mind with a specific word: Chanchalam . It means flickering. It means restless. It means inconsistent. Arjun, the great warrior, looked at his own mind...
